“The Historic Season” by Christopher Manzano and David Solorio

It’s the first time in 50 years that the Los Angeles Senior High School football team had a chance to claim a City title. The season was the best by far seeing as they came off the season before with only one win. The Romans’ Football team finished the regular season with 8 wins and 2 losses, going undefeated at home. They led Division III in points scored and had the best overall record giving them the number one seed in playoffs. The first round of playoffs was a breeze, but it was the next two rounds that really challenged the mighty Romans. Both games were only won by one score but were victorious in the end. Heading to The Coliseum for theIr final challenge against the third seeded Monroe Vikings, Los Angeles had some trouble holding on to the ball, but they were able to remain on top and defeat Monroe 28-14. The football team will be moving to a higher division next year, which will be a true test as to whether their success in Division III will carry on to take them to the top in a higher Division. "
