Opening in late 2014 at La Brea Blvd. and Edgewood Place,  the David Kordansky Gallery is receiving international attention.  Kordansky, a sculptor/performance artist and graduate of Cal Arts, has been one of the youngest gallerists to be invited to the prestigious main fair of the Basel Arts Fair, has been covered by the New York Times and has come to the attention of major collectors like Don Rubell.

Kordansky has quickly moved up in LA's art scene, first opening a small space in Chinatown in 2003, followed by a gallery of the same name in Culver City in 2008.  The 39 year old Kordansky is committed to discovering and engaging with a diverse group of artists living and working in LA.  Half his representation is dedicated to local or emerging artists but some internationally acclaimed artists have joined Kordansky's stable too, for instance, John Mason, Rashid Johnson and Sam Gilliam.  Per a gallery spokesperson, the  Kordansky Gallery "increasingly includes artists from different generations and locales so that a variety of historical lineages and cultural perspectives enter into the conversation with one another, and the gallery further contributes to the dynamic cross-pollination of ideas between Los Angeles and other global centers.". The gallery is split into two equally sized space so no artists are marginalized.
