West Adams boys and girls of all ages recently gathered at the 9th Annual “Make a Difference Day” to help construct rag dolls for children impacted by AIDS. Called “Dolls of Hope,” these charming handmade creations are part of a national multi-year program to put a doll in the arms of every girl  impacted by AIDS.  Materials were provided byprogram founder Cynthia Davis and the project was directed by Shellye Jones, Clinical Supervisor of the L.A. Family AIDS Network who said “It was poignant to see our community children complete the dolls, so proud of their creations, probably the only doll they’d ever made, then see them let go of them so a less fortunate girl could be served.” 48 Dolls were fabricated.
