Regina Jones 2016 Pioneer Woman

AprilReginaWhen Regina Jones, long time resident of Country Club, was featured as Local Resident in The Neighborhood News, City Council President and Council representative for CD10, Herb J. Wesson, Jr. took note and along with The Commission on the Status of Women, honored Ms. Jones with the 2016 Pioneer Woman Award, on March 23rd.

Established in 1975 by Mayor Tom Bradley, the Commission has a mandate to advance the general welfare of women and girls in Los Angeles, and to ensure that all women have full and equal participation in City government.

Regina along with 15 other recipients were presented Awards at a Breakfast Reception in the Tom Bradley Tower followed by Certificates of Recognition at an Awards and Recognition Ceremony in Council Chambers.  

Inscribed on the framed Certificate of Recognition;

"On behalf of the City of Los Angeles and The Commission on the Status of Women, we would like to recognize you for your exceptional commitment to enhancing opportunities for women and girls throughout our great City.  Your extraordinary accomplishments reflect your determination and perseverance, nevertheless it is your ability to graciously overcome obstacles that makes you an exemplary role model.  We thank you for your continuous dedication and for opening the door to many other women and girls who are also aspiring to reach their dreams.  Congratulations on being a Pioneer Woman!"
