Western Heights Neighborhood Association held their monthly meeting along with an annual pumpkin patch party for neighborhood kids. Costumes, games, cupcakes and decorations created a festive holiday atmosphere at the home of Chris Carlson and Demetrius Pohl. Residents in the WHNA community who support the installation of controversial gates and barriers sold pumpkins to help raise the $36,000 needed to meet the February installation deadline. A recent holiday party and auction in one of  the community’s largest and most beautifully restored homes, brought in approximately $5,000. The November deadline to raise the funds has been pushed to January. If the money is not raised by then, the  supporters will have missed the timeline needed to complete the project by February and the barriers will be dismantled. Neighbors on both sides of the issue eagerly await the results of this effort.
