Dubbed a Community Impact Initiative, the effort consisted of a clean up of approximately 50 alleys between Crenshaw Boulevard and Normandie Avenue, and between Jefferson and Martin L. King Jr., Blvds. Activities included graffiti removal and trash and bulky item pick-up. A group was available to assist homeless individuals found in these alleys.
The clean up, a partnership with the FBI, is a pilot program for law enforcement's
community engagement
programs nationwide.
