OCHI PROJECTS

Aug19Och1webOchi Projects is a contemporary art gallery located at 3301 W. Washington Blvd and 3rd Ave. across from Surfas. Pauli Ochi opened the gallery in June 2015, moving to Los Angeles from Ketchum, Idaho, where she had grown up watching her parents run a contemporary art gallery. After moving to Los Angeles, Ochi met Karon and Noah Davis at The Underground Museum, who introduced her to other art galleries and artists in the neighborhood. Eventually Ochi opened her own space down the street. Now in its fourth year, the gallery continues to exhibit the work of mostly emerging contemporary artists, many of whom live and work in Los Angeles.

Aug19Och2webOn view this summer through August 17 is a group exhibition, Historicity, featuring the work of Rico Gatson, Elizabeth Huey, Jake Kean Mayman, Umar Rashid, Katy Schimert and Anna Weyant. Coming up, opening September 7, is a solo exhibition of new works by Erin Morrison called Colony.

The gallery is free and open Wed. – Sat. 12-5pm.
