It’s lunchtime, you want to impress a client but need to watch your pocket book. Or you want somewhere local to lunch that’s cheap and well….classy. What to do? Look no further than Pips Pizza, Pasta and Salads on La Brea just north of Pico, next to the Gas Station. They have opened up for lunch and offer one of the most delicious low cost uptown lunch menu’s around.
I recently grabbed a copy of the Times, headed over and found a seat in the beautiful outdoor patio where I enjoyed gurgling fountains and the shade of a huge tree that keeps the patio cool on hot days. Everything on the menu is $7.99 and this includes a generous Caesar Salad with fresh grated cheese and homemade creamy dressing, a beverage of your choice (I ordered a coffee which was exceptional) and an entree. The categories include Panini’s; Tomato and Basil, Grilled Chicken or grilled Vegetable, which I ordered, The bread was fluffy and fresh and contained a wide variety of grilled vegetables. You could also choose Pasta; Canneloni, Fettuccini Bolognese and Fettuccini Alfredo.... or Salad; Spinach, Chopped Vegetable, Soup and Salad... or two slices of Thin crust Pizza; Cheese, Pepperoni or BBQ Chicken. Did I mention that you can also get a bottle of wine for half the normal price? As always the service is friendly and helpful. Check out the website to find out more about their Sunday Brunch, evening menu’s and jazz lineup.
