Low Cost or Free Workshops for Kids

Can you imagine sharing your sage advice and experience in response to your kid’s misbehavior and she looks at you and says “A fool thinks himself to be wise, but a wise man knows himself to be a fool.” Or perhaps you have just chastised him for some reckless behavior and he turns to you and says “A man loves the meat in his youth that he cannot endure in his age”. Well every Saturday afternoon this October 15 – November 19, your little genius will get a chance to elevate their smart aleck retorts to the level of art when you sign them up for Shakespeare in the City.

This is a ‘suggested donation of $5 but no one turned away for lack of funds’  Children’s Acting Workshop, being presented at the William Grant Still Art Center by the LA Drama Club. The Drama club is a non-profit organization that puts on the Shakespeare Youth Festival LA each Spring. They are called  “the Country’s youngest Shakespeare Troupe” and their mission is to build performing arts troupes in under-served areas of our city, “one neighborhood at a time”.    The workshop, for kids 8 - 12 will include acting, improv, theatre games and Shakespeare and culminate with a public recital.
