Fast Thinking Neighbor Prevents Break-in

An effort by a gang of burglars to break into the home of a resident on 15th Street in Harvard Heights was prevented by an alert neighbor.

According to local residents the thieves had been knocking on doors to discover who was or wasn’t home. If someone answered, the burglars would claim to be from a utility or cable company.  On Sept. 15 when no one answered the door, the group proceeded to the back of the house to attempt a break in.  An alert neighbor
immediately called 911. Officers in the area were able to respond in minutes catching one of the thieves red handed as he ran away.   Police confirm that alert neighbors are the best home security system.
