While Western Heights resident Pam Bruner drove home from work, a man pulled up alongside her car and began to stare her down. Her first thought was that he appeared to be driving an unmarked police car and was impersonating an officer. The all black Taurus type car had a huge spotlight on the outside rear view mirror with what seemed to be colored flashing lights across the dashboard.
When Ms. Bruner turned the corner at Cimmaron and Washington, she realized he thought he had convinced her to pull off the road and attempted to block her car by aiming the front of his car in something like a pit manuver. She sped up, maneuvered around him and sped into her driveway while pulling out her cellphone to call her husband out. The man raced after her, slamming on his brakes but when her neighbor, Greg Stubbs, peered at the man and asked her if that was the police, the assailant sped off. Greg said the man was dressed in black resembling a police uniform. Ms. Bruner did not doubt that the man pursuing her would have attacked her had she given him the chance.
