Motion approved: the MINC Inventory Policy and Checkout Procedure changes as drafted by Allan DiCastro. Policy was implemented when no objections were raised by the City Attorney’s office.
- waiting to hear from Carmen Hawkins of the City Attorney’s Office about the termination of 2 board members who have missed 5 meetings making them ineligible to continue as members.
- There are vacant seats on the board for regions 5, 6, 7, and merchant/business owner as well as organizational. If interested, Application to Fill Board Seat Vacancy available upon requests.
- Outreach Committee is moving forward with proposed projects which include meet and greet events to be held throughout the regions.
- Land Use report: Chair Bruce Durbin attended a meeting on Tuesday, August 16th at City Hall for discussion of the Sidewalk Repair Policy. Cell Tower proposed at Washington and LaBrea is moving ahead; the owner has made several improvements.
- MINC’s new By-laws are still being considered by Grace Liu at DONE.
- Gavin Glynn spoke to Trader Joe Organization and said they appear interested in discussing possibility of putting a store in MidTown Crossing complex.
- Bettye Bryant noted the graffiti on MidTown Crossing site is gone.
- Bettye and Joy Williams attended the Open House at Wilshire Station.
- Be aware of robberies that are being committed by men wearing t-shirts with “Security” written on back of shirts.
Stakeholders Meeting:
- Wilshire LAPD accepting unwrapped toys 11/28/11 to 12/17/11 for the upcoming holidays,
- CD-10-John Harmon stated funding for both medians on Washington Blvd approved.;
- Resident Jennifer Johnson informed the group that The City Charter School organization is looking for space to open a new charter school within MINC’s boundaries. The group plans to start with a middle school and expand to include high school grades.
- Alta Loma Elementary School’s principal asked for cooperation of the community in reporting graffiti around the school.
